A family today is often composed differently than expected.
The original definition of the family has changed. Starting from the desire for a perpetual partnership, there are numerous variations. In your own environment and in contact with other families, you will soon notice that patchwork families are no longer the exception. What used to be viewed critically as a strange variant of a partnership is now often part of normality.
Two existing families make up two new ones. However, this circumstance brings with it changes in manners. The pedagogical and educational mission changes if you are not the biological father or mother. If you are particularly considerate and sensitive here and focus on the children’s changing needs, patchwork quickly feels like a normal family — and for the children, too.
