N4YK house­keep­ers have an edu­ca­tion in the field of house­keep­ing or hotel man­age­ment. They are pri­mar­i­ly respon­si­ble for the house­hold, such as main­tain­ing and clean­ing the rooms, shop­ping and cook­ing, doing the laun­dry and, if nec­es­sary, tak­ing care of mes­sen­ger trips for the family.

Salary lev­els vary depend­ing on qual­i­fi­ca­tions, expe­ri­ence, ref­er­ences and region.

More exten­sive child­care is not part of the duties of a house­keep­er and is cov­ered by the nan­ny or fam­i­ly manager.
