Many want to carry responsibility, but only a few can.

About the right understanding of responsibility

Responsibility means above all being fully aware of the consequences of a decision. It is high on the wish list of many. But if the consequences affect you, then responsibility is not far off. In most cases, responsibility is also confused with power. Many people demand more responsibility, but they actually mean power. This is quickly apparent when it comes to the consequences of false responsibility. Responsibility is a fragile and valuable commodity, which is why the right understanding of it is so rare.
Our nannies are responsible. And we demand this responsibility. That is why the highest commandment always applies: You do not play with responsibility. Never. You live up to it. Because true responsibility always means being fully aware of the consequences of your own actions and decisions. Taking responsibility means carrying a burden. The responsibility for the well-being of other people is probably by far the greatest and is placed above one’s own well-being. And this is exactly the responsibility we mean and want to see.
